hi.

so tell me why the days are just FLYING by? it's ridiculous. like i really only have 162 days left. 713 days is what i had at the beginning, now I am down to 162? where did the other 551 days go? I am baffled. the sisters I knew in the MTC go home IN 8 DAYS. like it's crazy that the time has completely just disappeared.

So it was a long last week though...... Let's hit up a recap ---------->

MONDAY -> Preparation Day. Yup.

TUESDAY -> Last day with Elder Labrum. I don't even remember what we did. I think we chilled at the Branch President's house for dinner and then we went to mutual with them. We said bye.... well Labrum did, to Francisco.

WEDNESDAY -> TRANSFERS. It was so nice seeing all my homies again. I had been waiting so long for transfers and it FINALLY came. Love my homies Schoeneman and Latu. It had been TOO LONG. So excited for Christmas conference in 10 days. All day P A R T Y. I am still in Elkhart and my new companion is Elder Weese. We served in White River together so I already know him. He just got finished being trained by my homeboy Elder Markward. I am still the District Leader here in Elkhart. The new Elder's in the branch are Elder Triance and Baird (my son I trained hahaha). So 3 elders I served with in White River all came up here. It's all their first time transferring, hahaha.

Thursday -> So Thursday we taught Luis Vasquez. I will talk about him more on my Sunday summary. We also found these 2 new Hondurians. They were pretty cool. Well, one seemed interested and the other didn't make a single sound and just stared at us so I am not sure. Hahaha. Had some bangin' Pozole with the Hiltons.

Friday -> PSYCHO ALERT. SO, we were knocking in some apartments and we knocked this door and waited for an answer and then some guy walks in the building and the far stairs and it was door and he starts SCREAMING and cussing at us and we are like "Uhhh ok bye" and being the brat I am I STUPIDLY yelled "You're a great person!" and we walked outside and left. As we are walking outside, he always exits with a dresser that he is putting in the dumpster and he yells "IF YOU WERE SERVANTS OF GOD YOU WOULD HAVE HELPED ME CARRY THIS" and I was like "Well you never asked, all you did was cuss at us" and he FLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPS into a rage and was like "I HAVEN'T CUSSED AT ALL UNTIL NOW" and then enters an INSANE flurry of rage and is screaming and so I just walk away to another building and Weese stays outside the door and is yelling over at him that he isn't a nice person HAHA and so the guy eventually goes back inside and we leave the building and start running for our car that was parked a few minutes away. As we are running we see the guy come outside and hop on his motorbike and starts driving toward us!!!!! We get around a building and lose him and drive away and we look back and he is driving around a different parking lot lost and looking for us. Needless to say, HE IS PSYCHO.
Also, we rang the Salvation Army bells for an hour! Hna. Romero came to visit us too with her daughter Abi, and Maria Alarcon. I had fun saying stupid stuff like "Welcome to the Bahamas" or completely butchering the Walmart slogan (Save Money. Live Better..... [I THINK]) as people walked in and then singing as people left.
Also, Hna. Romero called me that night SCARED TO DEATH that she had ghosts in her house and wanted my expert ghost fighting advice (????). She is HILARIOUS. Love her.
Saturday -> LOL Saturday was so lame. We taught the lamest dang people that are about as interested in the Gospel as the keyboard I am typing this on. Ya. BUT we did have lunch with my main homie Hna. Romero and that was sick. She made me Milanesas and Rice because she knows I love it and she loves me. flawless. Something funny though! So this lady was SO UNINTERESTED that we taught so I was like "Elder Weese you can teach her if you want...." and so he does and at the end he goes to talk about prayer and he opens the pamphlet to this chick praying and shows it to the woman and she asks "Es la virgen?" aka (IS THAT THE VIRGIN MARY) and he replies "Si." (YES) and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE it. I couldn't contain myself and laughed for the next 5 minutes straight until I was just like CAN WE END WITH A PRAYER and we got out of there.

Sunday -> Chilled with Alarcons, Martinez, Romero, and Fernandez. Sunday FUNDAY.
But about that Luis guy real quick -> Inactive guy we happened to tract into. Baptized 33 years ago in Mexico. CAME TO CHURCH YESTERDAY, and loved it. Sent us a text with a lot of smiley faces after church and was super thankful and I was super thankful too. COOL GUY.

OK, love you all! Keep it real my friends!

No weekly email this week!
my old branch president. ty.

Nov. 24, 2014

Another week down. Got pretty much confirmation that I will be here for another transfer today from President but that actual calls are next week.

So our week was SO slow. SO slow.

Like there is not much to say because people are all so flaky.

BUT, Branch President's son is home from his mission! It was so weird being there when he got home....... Made me trunky!

Our house got broken into but nothing stolen. Will probably end up moving out. Rain and snow. It's cold.

It's going good though! I promise SORRY THIS IS LAME. I am sorry!

HAPPY. :)

so..... we got broken into. didn't take anything tho....

Nov. 17, 2014

The weeks are flying and the weather is COLD COLD COLD. Snow is officially here to stay and I am pretty bitter about it. Salty is more the word. When you are super mad you are salty. So yeah, I am super salty about the snow. It's already slippery and icy which makes missionary work just 20000x harder than it already is. People stop answering their doors because it's too cold, as if the two kids standing OUTSIDE don't ALREADY REALIZE THAT.

The week was pretty chill. Hit 20 lessons like we are supposed to so that was good.

Had a super HILARIOUS chill/gossip session with some members last night over some hot chocolate and cookies. They are leaving TOMORROW to Tennessee to go pick up their son who is finishing his mission!!!! So next Sunday I get to be at a Missionary Welcome Home sacrament meeting. Will be SUPER weird. Wednesday this week is the official start of 6 MORE MONTHS. Crazy man, crazy.

So we visited this woman this week, GUESS HER NAME.....
.
.
.
.
MARIA, yes you were right!!! Maria was rushing because she had to make food and I asked her what she was making and she was like "Well you've never heard of them...." and starts to describe them and I am like "Um, are those not Sopes? I love Sopes!" Her jaw drops in shock that I know what Sopes are and she then lets us teach her a lesson and invites us to stay and eat Sopes for dinner with them, they were amazing and that's what I call a sick new investigator who really likes us. Mexican Food knowledge for the win!!!!

Went by Abraham, who answered the door in booty shorts. Absolutely hilarious. He is a complete hoot.

Met a swarm of Jehovah's Witnesses this week BUT not a single one yelled at me so that was nice. I am building up friendships with them. lol.

Met an absolute babe from Honduras and I will leave that as is.

Just living the life. Cold as can be but that's the life. Once it's down snowing here I get to go back to California, so I can tough it out.

Not much to say.... sorry!

Keep it real! Let life take!

For all the people who say they SOMEHOW miss me.... haha
Mhmk, glad to get that out of the way. Ha.

Let me start off with my new crazy obsession:
I am 100% obsesssed with sauteeing and steaming fruits and vegetables. Like it's weird. It's all I want to eat. I have just been seriously trying EVERYTHING. I made steamed/sauteed Celery and Carrots with Alfredo sauce. I steamed Celery in Sprite. I made sauteed apples 4 different times. First time: Water and Lemon Juice.
Second: Sprite and Lemon Juice. Then I finished it with sugar.
Third: PURE Sprite with SOME lemon juice at the end. Them I caramelized with Sugar.
Fourth: Water and Lemon juice and sugar. Then topped it with cinnamon and vanilla extract.
I am obsessed and C A N N O T stop. Haha.

Last week....
I am struggling to remember last Tuesday. Apparently I taught a Perla and then an Ernesto, at least that is what I wrote down but I have absolutely ZERO recollection of those lessons. We DID have interviews with President Cleveland though and those went nice. President's first thing he said to me was about the SF Giants winning, HAHA. He is a Dodger's fan. Yuck.

Wednesday I went on exchanges with my MTC Companion, Elder Wolverton, and it was quite fitting seeing as it was our 17 month mark. Weird! We managed to teach lots of people that have absolutely Z E R O interest hahaha. Atleast they let us plant the seed....

Thursday was awful. Nothing happened. ZZZZZZZZ.

Friday was SICK though. Had exchanges with Elder Wright here in Elkhart. Man, what DIDN'T we do? We taught a whole heck of a lot of people and then when we were out contacting we decided to get into an intense Photo contest. We were taking photos of everything and then we edited them and printed them out on Saturday and had a bunch of people judge them. I am not exactly sure if the contest is over yet but I am currently ahead 221 to 219..... Oh and I am currently winning for best overall picture too ;)

Saturday we taught Abraham and he is HILARIOUS. That's all I can really say for him. I hope he can become progressing so we can actually get to know him better.....We also went to the YMCA with some members and played soccer and racquetball and it was super fun!

Not much is happening with no one even remotely CLOSE to baptism. I'll probably be here till January though so hopefully we can get something going fast. It's getting COLD which means lots of sniffles and sweaters coming soon!

Hope you all had a GREAT week and I would like to leave y'all with a SCRIPTURE:

13 Wherefore, I call upon the weak things of the world, those who are unlearned and despised, to thrash the nations by the power of my Spirit

That's the motto homies, THRASH THE NATIONS. ha.

Love you all, have a sick week!
-Elder Groseclose
